Mosh Music Teen Angst Adventure
Experience Design

Project Description
Welcome back to being a teenager, where the music is too loud, sneaking out is a way of life, and the mosh pit is your form of therapy. If you’ve ever wanted to relive your rebellious youth or embrace your teen angst for the first time, there’s a place for you.
Welcome to Mosh Music Teen Angst Adventure, where music is more than a phase.

Record Store
Grab up to 5 friends and create your own band, where you immediately become rock superstars as your band has been booked to do an in-store signing at the Mosh Music Record Store.
When you enter, you are given the rockstar treatment with employees telling you how much your music means to them. If your look isn’t complete, you can buy some accessories to tie it all together. And after giving your autograph to a quick waiver form, you head into the storage room to wait for the signing.

Storage Room 1
Inside, an employee spins a Bitter Hope record, asking if you remember how their singer, Dani Reign, gave you your big break back in the day.

Storage Room 2
As the song plays, the memories flood back and open a portal back to your origin story.

Basement
You climb out of the portal into your old basement, where your band manager says you’re late for band practice. You need to finish you demo before taking it to the Bitter Hope concert tonight.

Demo Recording
You enter the makeshift recording area, where your group uses instruments to play a song together. The whiteboard comes to life as you try to strum or hit on the correct beat. Regardless of skill level, by the end of the song, your music blows the doors off the place. Lastly you have to name your song, which your manager writes on a CD before ushering you out of the basement.

Hallway
But as you head into the hall, you’re met with the greatest adversary to any angsty teen: an angry parent. They ground you for making so much noise and send you to your room. But you’re a rebellious teen after all, so of course you’re going to sneak out.

Backyard
Your manager leads you out the bedroom window, where you sneak through the backyard, either climbing across the trellis or weaving between the trash cans.

Band Van
You all climb into the band van and speed over to the concert, but suddenly you’re stopped by flashing lights and a voice telling you to get out of the van.

Scene Mall
You climb out and you're now in front of the mall. A security guard named "the Man" thinks your band vandalized the entrance. They try to lock you up, but your manager jumps in and takes the fall before being dragged away by security, along with your demo CD. What are you going to do? Luckily, a mall employee overhears and offers to sneak you in to get it back. You can either climb into the rafters or weave through the ground floor.

Inside the Mall
The employee guides you as you weave through an instrument shop, CD store, and scene clothing store called Tragic Threads, all the while avoiding spotlights from the security cameras to not trigger the alarm. Inside Tragic Threads, the employee finds your demo CD in the trash and hands it to you. As you head towards the exit, you pass the security door and see your manager has tied up the guard and is giving them an emo makeover. They wave you on as you head outside.

Venue Parking Lot
You exit into a parking lot where you see Bitter Hope’s tour bus parked in front of the venue. A roadie offers to let you on board, where you leave your demo CD for Dani Reign to find. The roadie tells you to wait out front and they call you in to an exclusive VIP area for the show.

Inside the Venue
When you are called in, you enter a small concert area with a strict “No Moshing” sign. Dani Reign greets your band, saying they found your demo on their bus and it was the best song they’ve ever heard. They offer you a record deal and an opening spot on the next tour. Before you can celebrate, Dani says you better open up the pit before the show begins.

Mosh Simulator
As you turn around, you see the wall has disappeared revealing a large concert hall with padded mosh chambers. Once you each get inside your mosh chamber, the curtain opens and the band launches into a 10-minute set where you can push and shove along safely.

Merch Area
After the show you head to merch tables, where Dani Reign might even come out to grab a photo and plan your first album.

Merchandise
You can buy Bitter Hope merch, have custom merch printed with your band name, or purchase the original soundtrack album from the experience.

Post-Show Cafe
If you’re hungry, you can head out to the Post-Show Cafe where you can grab a taco or burger under the night sky and reminisce about the experience with your friends inside a car booth.
To exit, you head back into the present-day record shop where you are given a copy of your demo CD to take with you, so you can always remember where you came from.

Marketing
The marketing will be very tongue-in-cheek, playing up the melodrama of emo culture, but also encouraging guests to be themselves. The original soundtrack will also be heavily promoted on streaming as if Bitter Hope is a real band.

Wardrobe
The wardrobe is inspired by early 2000s emo fashion. The fabric is primarily black with white stripes, checkers, and bright pink and purple accents.

Floorplan
This is a linear experience, leading guests in a clockwise path back to where they started. The experience is divided into 3 areas: the house, the mall and the concert venue. To alleviate potential bottle necks, multiple groups can experience the demo recording and mosh simulation scenes at the same time.
