Subtle horror designs you can wear year-round! Living in Florida and being a horror fan is difficult because your only choices are thick, black t-shirts that cook you in the sun. That’s why I started Jakenstein Horror Apparel in 2019: to create some fun, bright t-shirts that had subtle horror elements, but could comfortably be worn anytime. I created all the t-shirt illustrations and worked with a direct-to-garment printer to find the best quality shirt brands and colors to bring the illustrations to life. Each design was born from my love of a particular horror property or concept, usually tied in with a joke (horror comedy is my favorite sub-genre for a reason). I also created the logo and all the branding and marketing assets, including short promo videos. This may have started as a way for me to have horror t-shirts that weren’t all black, but it has become a fun way to improve my illustration chops on a subject I usually don’t get to explore in my day-job.
